YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt.10: Our Spiritual Gifts Inventory

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

To better equip us for what we have been called or appointed to do with our lives, we have been looking into the Gifts of the Holy Spirit we have received from the Lord. Through these teachings we have gained a better understanding as to where we fit in the body of Christ.

I am excited about this study. I am even more excited to assist you to get you where you belong in the body of Christ! There is no better feeling or sense of destiny we experience in the Lord until we are right where we are supposed to be, doing what we are called to do. I heard it put this way with humor from a preacher who remarked: "When the Lord puts something in your heart, you get an unction to function!"  I can't wait to hear testimonies of what you have been called to, and how the Lord is using your gift to be a blessing to others.

Today I have enclosed a link for you to look at. It is a gift inventory test to help you get an idea of the gifts and talents you possess and will help narrow down the direction of what the Lord is placing in your heart to do.

The Spiritual Gifts Inventory will help you discover what it is that inspires you, along with an idea of how you are wired in Christ. You may find it answers a lot of questions for you. Examples: Why do I think this way?  Or I always knew I loved children!  Or why do I feel the need to tell everyone about Jesus a little more passionately then others? Or Why do I find myself praying for others all of the time? And why do I love the Word of God so much and love to share it with everyone? Be encouraged the answers are on the way!

Have a blessed time filling out your gift assessment test. It is free and of no charge at all. Once filled out you can print it to keep a copy on hand to better understand different seasons you walk through, and the "whys" of what gift may be used or added to you as your knowledge increases in Christ "Severally as He wills." I Corinthians 12:11.

Here is the link from the "Gifted to Serve website: Finding your place in ministry, your spiritual gifts inventory." Just copy and paste in search bar.  http://buildingchurch.net/g2s-i.htm

Once you have completed your "Gifted to Serve" assessment please let us know what you have found out about yourself, your gifts and talents, and where you believe the Lord is leading you to use them! We'd love to hear from you and encourage you to grow in the place the Lord wants you to be!

Now to Him is who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21. (NAS)

Blessings to you and yours in the wonderful name of Jesus!

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt.9: No member greater than the other

Greetings Beloved of the Lord God Almighty!

We have been looking into the the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in this series. We began our study by identifying the Fruit of the Spirit and then moved onto the diversities of gifts that we as individuals may hold, along with our strengths and weaknesses. Remember, we are a work in progress and haven't as of yet arrived unto full perfection. This will happen when we are with our Lord in glory rejoicing with Him.

The intention of his study is to assist us in locating and fine tune what we are created for. If any of the gifts we have spoken about makes a light go off or sparks something inside of you to say "That's it!" Then our joy is made full.  For the most part you may find that you have already been walking in your gifting. You will find it just comes naturally to you. It's who you are and how you are wired.

As we continue to break down the remaining Foundational Gifts, or the 5 Fold Ministry Gifts is another term used, the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor and teacher. We will also be looking at the ministry of helps. This ministry in mentioned in I Corinthians 12:28  "And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third  teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and various kinds of tongues." (NAS)

The Lord is wise with all of the different personalities have given to us as individuals as well as the accompanying gifts that go right along with who we are and how He has wired us! Then to boot, He places us in a corporate body with others who also have gifts and callings. This is His master plan. That we with all of our diversities and gifts, should all come together as one in Christ. This is exciting! What is even more exciting is that He has called us to be a part of it!

In the ministry of helps we find in various areas that the gifts may overlap with other gifts. There are seasons that one gift may seem to be more prevalent than the others. However, these gifts work together to meet the needs of the whole body at those times, as the Lord wills. All of the gifts though spiritually given meet the practical needs of the whole body as well. We may find the ministry of helps and administrations do exactly that.

We find in the book of Acts 6:2-4 that the disciples were increasing and so were the people they were ministering to. Not only did they teach and minister to them, they also fed them as well. But because the crowds grew some were getting neglected. This was concerning for the disciples. They needed to devote themselves to prayer and the Word of God. So they chose seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom to head this task up.

The disciples could not fulfill their calling without others fulfilling theirs. The pieces fit just like a puzzle. No matter how dynamic a gift may be, in and of itself, by itself, it is limited. Now, God is not limited, just the gift. We all need each other in order to fulfill the Great Commission of God.

In I Corinthians 12:18 it states "But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him."

We read further about unity and diversity in the body of Christ.

I Corinthians 12:12-26 (KJV)
12-14 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-- and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.

15-19 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

20-26 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism (division) in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

We see that the Lord in His great wisdom indeed has provided every member of His body with gifts and talents, along with strengths and weaknesses, that no part would boast of itself, giving implication of its lack of need for the other. We are all equal in the body of Christ. There is none ordained to be the head, except Christ, in His infinite glory and wisdom.

This is a beautiful example of the Lords unconditional love and lack of partiality. He does not discriminate or put at odds, one against the other. He promotes unity and oneness. As we should.

So, whatever it is that the Lord has placed upon your heart and in yours hands, do to the glory of the Lord. You have been given liberty in Christ Jesus. God is our Creator and He has imparted His creative abilities into our lives by His Holy Spirit. Be excited, be encouraged, and be blessed!

Get your note book and begin to write down things that you may be impressed to do, or ideas that may be brought to your mind. Then prayerfully consider them with the Lord and ask Him to build on them. Ask Him to help you become more sensitive to others and to open your eyes to the needs around you. To bring more to light, to give you His eyes to see what He sees, and to give you greater understanding and direction toward those things. Ask and you shall receive.

We are called to be servants one to another. These are some ways that we may be able to help or serve others by lifting their burden just a little. We are equipped to meet practical needs as well as spiritual.

Remember, when we extend a hand in the natural to meet the needs of others, the Lord will surely open the eyes of our understanding and reveal the spiritual needs of others as well. Whether it be healing, physical or emotional.

We have been anointed with Gods wisdom and the Holy Spirit. In Matthew 25:40 Jesus said "when you have done it to the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me."

Below is a list of some examples but not limited to:

Ministering to the homeless
Helping the Elderly
Hospitality ministry at church
Home Bible studies
Preaching/Pastor/Teacher
After school care for children
Mowing the neighbors lawn
Tutoring school aged children
Volunteer in community activities

May our Lord continue to richly bless and keep you and yours until the day of Christs coming!

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt. 8: The Gift of the Prophet

Blessings to you and yours!

Let's continue our study so you can better find where you fit in the body of Christ. You have gifts, talents and wonderful God given abilities that are needed in the world around you. The Bible says in Timothy.

II Timothy 2:15 "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

That is exactly what we are doing. We are getting equipped for the works of service/ministry the Lord would move us into. Let us begin by reading our foundation verse:

Ephesians 4:11-15

11-13  So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for the works of service, so the that the whole body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in he knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14-15  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Ministry Gifts - the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, the pastor and teacher.

In Ephesians 2:19-22  Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you are also being built together for a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

The Gift of Prophet - a divinely inspired speaker, or teacher through whom the revealed will of God is expressed or interpreted. In conjunction with the Holy Spirit prophets edify, guide, encourage, warn, correct with love and compassion, and perceive the will of God for the body of Christ. Prophetic utterances will never be expressed in contradiction to the person, will, or Word of God, as they must have and carry the burden of the Lords heart. The role of a prophet and his/her ministry is to individuals and groups of people and those the Lord has chosen. They have authority to bring about change so that the people of God can move into the fuller life that the Lord has intended. The desire of the prophet should be the same the Lord has for His people, as with the other Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The desire is to see individuals hearts, minds and lives changed toward the Lord and His will, and releasing people to fulfill their God given destiny and purpose for their lives. The ministry of a prophet may entail the intents and motives of the heart, where sin is concerned or there is a hearts desire to serve God. This in and of itself will cause others to become uncomfortable at such times when one moves under this anointing, influenced by the Holy Spirit of God.

We Read in the book of Jeremiah 1:9-10 "Then the Lord put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, "Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant."

We see in these verses that the Lord set Jeremiah over the people of Israel to be delivered spiritually and established in the things of the Lord. To root out, to pull down, to destroy, and to throw down, are all commands given by God. A mandate of what needed to be done or corrected.

We read in John 10:10 "That the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come come to give you life and that more abundantly."

We see that Jesus was making known to His hearers that the only intent of the enemy/devil/satan is to steal, kill and to destroy. Who or what? I'm glad you asked. Us the church, the body of Christ and those who will come to believe. Whether the enemy is attempting to destroy us through our thoughts, emotions, others or a situation we may find ourselves in. There are no good intentions from anything that would attempt to hinder our growth in Christ and the knowledge of the power of His resurrection.

However, Jesus said this is why He has come. To give us life and that life more abundantly and to the fullest! Now, remember, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be with the body of Christ until He comes again to retrieve His bride (us)! The Gifts of God operate by the Spirit of God, the anointing of God is from the Spirit of God, the utterances of God come from the Spirit of God. Remember we read previously that ever Jesus said "I can do nothing of myself, except what I hear of the Father." John 5:30. Neither can we. That is why it is very important to remain humble. As much as the Lord knows the hearts of those we may minister to, do we not think He knows ours?

In Colossians 2:15 "When He (Jesus) having disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them by the cross."

The nature of the enemy is to deceive and everything else evil with intentions that goes right along with it. The Lords work of the cross is to deliver us from this evil one. This is where the gifts are given to the body of Christ, for the body of Christ, to equip, build up and bring into the unity of faith. There may be times when the enemy has gained a foothold in someones life that must be brought to light, so that it can be mended and healing can take place. This is where we see terms like: Root out, pull down, destroy, throw down. All these things give us the notion of being against us and not for our benefit or well being. They must be removed. When we find ourselves in the position of correction, we must do so with the love of Christ as stated in Jude. Do as unto others as we would do for our own, in reverent fear of the Lord.

Jude 1:23 "But others save with fear, snatching them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh."

Let us read in II Corinthians 10:5 "We are destroying and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ."

This is where the prophetic gift is a blessing to the body of Christ. Given the authority by God to operate in this fashion, secures the utmost for the believer who receives in faith. After the deceiver or his fruits, have been uprooted in ones life, now comes the finished work of Christ to overflow in abundance in the life of the believer, to receive healing, instruction and restoration.

In regards to the clauses of: to build and to plant, that we read in Jeremiah 1:10. That expressly speaks of establishment, a restoration, a settled-ness, liberty, a wholeness in the life that has been delivered by the grace of God, through His Holy Spirit. Praise God!

I must admonish at this point. As much as we may operate in some measure of the prophetic, we are not called to judge, expose - leave naked emotionally, embarrass, intimidate, demean, bully, curse, gossip, defame someone or their character, manipulate, control, etc. I think you understand. The list goes on.

However, the denominator that is not present with these terms is LOVE. Remember the gifts operate with and by love. They operate by the Holy Spirit of love. Let me say, that if you find yourself operating under anything else except the love of God by the Spirit of God, you are operating in rebellion. Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft - I Samuel 15:23.  People are the Lords commodity and we must, in the fear of God, awesome respect, handle them with care. If we can not operate in and with the love of God, we should not be in ministry at all. We are called to restore as we have been restored.

Galatians 5:13 "For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."

I pray the peace of God that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds until Christ comes again, to the fullness of His glory.

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt. 7: The Gift of the Apostle

Greetings Beloved!

I am believing you are enjoying the study of Our Heavenly Gifts and finding your heart encouraged.

Let's continue in Ephesians 4:11-15
11-13 So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the whole body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ministry Gifts - the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers.

Ephesians 2:19-22  Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you are also being built together for a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

The Gift of Apostle - means "sent one." Apostles govern in the church, the body of Christ. They are Leaders of Leaders and ministers of ministers. They are Fathers in sense of Elders in the body of Christ. With a heart of the Great Shepherd they raise up new leaders, and instruct the seasoned, who will run the race with patient endurance. An apostle is one who has a mission or mandate from above. They are pioneers. They are planters of new ministries and churches, often traversing beyond cultural differences, to find themselves in challenging situations to preach the good news where it hadn't been heard before. Signs and wonders also accompany this gift as a sign and testimony of the risen Christ to unbelievers. It is not unusual for the gift of apostle to oversee multiple ministries and churches. The gift of apostle is one of the foundational gifts given to the body of Christ by Jesus himself, as we read earlier. This gift is necessary to the growth of the body of Christ worldwide. We must recognize this gift, give way to and encourage others that may have an apostolic gifting and spirit in our world today. The body of Christ is in lack without its operation.

I must say at this point that there are believers in the body of Christ today that have an apostolic gift stirring in their hearts. They also have a pioneering spirit. They seem to be bold and courageous willing to go outside of the four walls of the church buildings and pave the way to gain ground in the local area, stretch out the tent pegs and bring the lost in to the glory of God. They have received the vision of the house. The mandate the Pastor believes he has received of the Lord, for that particular part of the body of Christ and area or region, and they are more then willing to run with it to the glory of God. We need this gift to be encouraged and cultivated in the church today. We must allow this gift to rise up and set a pace for the rest of the body to follow. They are trailblazers!

Prophetically speaking by the Spirit of God, we will see an apostolic people and generation rise up in the midst of our local assemblies. They are spiritual dare-devils. Not unlike the Joshua generation. They have no fear or intimidation. They know in whom they have believed and will run with fire setting the world ablaze for cause of Christ. Glory to God!

I pray the Lords grace and power rest upon you and yours. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt. 6: Diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit

Blessings to you in the mighty name of Jesus!

We read in I Corinthians 12:4-11 "Now there are diversities if gifts , but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh by the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.

As we study spiritual gifts, we will break them down into three categories. This will aid us in understanding them and the place they serve in ministry.

  • Motivational gifts: the driving force or passion that causes us to relate to others in a certain manner or behave in a particular way in accordance to our life experiences and our revelation of Gods character and word working in our lives.
  • Ministerial gifts: these are the gifts the Spirit of the Lord has divided among men and given to the Body of Christ for the establishing, edifying and building up of the saints.
  • Manifestation gifts: These are also known as "Power gifts." These are different expressions or acts of the Holy Spirit that often exhibit miracles, healing and other tangible or visible demonstrations of the Lord.

We have been given the gifts we have by the grace of God to serve others in love. Remember, God IS love and his gifts work by his Spirit, who IS the Spirit of love. We see in the above scripture reference that that gifts are given to us in order to profit withal, everyone. The Holy Spirit has been given to us freely. The gifts that accompany him have also been given freely to us. Love gives and is not selfish. Let's look at another scripture verse.

I Corinthians chapter 13:1-13
1-3 Though I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4-7 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
7-10 But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away; For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is done in part will be done away.
11-13 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Let's note that the greatest of these is love, and love never fails. God is love, and God never fails!   In I Corinthians chapter 13 verses 4-7 we can see the attributes of our Lord. We can expect the Holy Spirit working in our lives to inspire us to do no less. The gifts work by love. The gifts are to benefit the whole. We each have been given a special part to play in the body of Christ. No one gift does it all. We are not islands unto ourselves. A matter of fact it is exciting to see the different gifts in operation. When we rightfully discern the body of Christ and see certain gifts in others, we get an idea of their differences and better understand the gift given to us and where we fit in.

In Romans 12:3-11 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly then you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance to the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully; Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

MOTIVATIONAL GIFTS
  • Prophecy - a person with the motivational gift of prophecy applies the Word of God to a situation so that sin is exposed and relationships are restored. He or she has a strong sense of right and wrong and speaks out against compromise and evil.
Life Principle to Apply: It is especially important for a prophet the principle of responsibility and maintain a clear conscience. This discipline equips the prophet to speak boldly with love.
  • Serving - a person with the motivational gift of serving is driven to demonstrate love by meeting practical needs. The server available to see a project through to the end and enjoys doing physical labor.
Life Principle to Apply: A server needs to diligently apply the principle of authority. As he/she honors the directions and wishes of authority figures, the server is better equipped to maintain proper priorities in time management and is often protected from individuals who might take advantage of his/her eagerness to help with physical needs.
  • Teaching - a person with the motivational gift of teaching is passionate about discovering and validating truth. A teacher is particularly concerned with the accuracy of information, especially church doctrine, and is also gifted with research abilities.
Life Principle to Apply: A teacher should faithfully apply the principle of success and invest time in meditation on scripture. The discipline of meditation helps the teacher stay focused on the truth of Gods word instead of the strength of his/her own mind.
  • Exhorting - a person with the motivational gift of exhortation wants to see believers grow to spiritual maturity. An exhorter is an encourager at heart and is often involved in the ministries of counseling, teaching, and discipling.
Life Principle to Apply: It is essential for the exhorter to understand the principle of  God's design and to except God's design in his/her own life. An understanding of this principle establishes a firm foundation for understanding and accepting the sovereignty of God, which is the key to the exhorter's ministry.
  • Giving - a person with the motivational gift of giving wants to use and give financial resources wisely in order to meet the needs of others. A giver is usually good at finding the best buy, noticing overlooked needs, and maintaining a budget.
Life Principle to Apply: A giver must learn to wisely apply the principle of ownership. When a giver understands that all things belong to God and should be used to bring glory to Him, he/she is ready is ready to share resources as God directs him/her to give.
  • Organizing - a person with the motivational gift of organization is able to accomplish tasks and solve problems analysis and delegation. An organizer often discerns the talents and abilities of others and knows how those individuals can best serve within a given ministry or on a particular project.
Life Principle to Apply: A person with the gift of organization needs to understand the principle of suffering. Trusting God to use the tests and trials of life to develop his/her character and strengthen his/her faith helps an organizer to respond to unexpected events events with patience and wisdom and increases his/her sensitivity to the needs of others.
  • Mercy - a person with the motivational gift of mercy is sensitive to the emotional and spiritual needs of others. A mercy-giver is drawn to people in need and seeks to demonstrate compassion, understanding, and love to them.
Life Principle to Apply: It is important for a mercy-motivated person to apply the principle of moral freedom. An understanding of this principle will protect the mercy-giver from developing improper relationships or giving false impressions to those to whom they minister.

May the peace of God keep your minds and hearts in Christ Jesus.

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt. 5: Fruit of the Holy Spirit an expression of love

Blessings my Brothers and Sisters!

As we continue to grow in our walk with the Lord, and understand the gifts and talents we possess, I believe we must look at the one who gives us our inspiration. The Holy Spirit of God.

In 1 John 4:7-8 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." (KJV)

We see that God IS love. Love IS God and love comes from God. Love is the manifestation of the Lord God. God is a tri-une Being. Meaning three in one: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father is enthroned in the heavenlies. God the Son (Jesus) is seated at the right side of the throne and God the Holy Spirit is here on earth living within earthen vessels.

In the Book of Acts chapters 1 and 2 we find the account of how Jesus explained to the disciples that the Holy Spirit (the promise of the Father) was coming to them and they would receive power. Then they would be the Lords witnesses throughout Judea and Samaria to the uttermost parts of the world.

We see that the Lord felt it necessary for the disciples and all followers of Christ to have power from on high, the person of the Holy Spirit. He is the one who raised Jesus from the dead. He is the One in whom Jesus was able to heal the sick and deliver the oppressed. He is the One who filled the Lord with empathy and compassion toward people. The Holy Spirit of God is the One who stirred Jesus to speak comfort to the disheartened. He is the One who worked through Jesus to do the miracles He did.

Jesus put it this way in John 5:30 "I can do nothing on my own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgement is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who  has sent Me." If Jesus needed him I am so sure we do too! (BSB)

Now, if God is love and the Holy Spirit is God, that means that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of love. He reveals the Lords love to us and he will help us share Gods love with others.

In Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance/patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such there is no law."

Jesus set a wonderful example of how we are to respond to the lovely and unlovely. He operated with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It is not always easy to love the unlovable. But it is not impossible with the Holy Spirit working through us. We will love with the Fathers love which is unconditional. Not our love aside from the Lords, which is limited and conditional.

In whatever capacity we serve others, we must realize that it will be successful when we allow the fruit of the Holy Spirit to work in and through our lives with the love of the Lord. People will sense our sincerity.

I like what Colossians 3:23-24 says "Whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ."

Let's pray. Father in heaven I thank you for allowing Heart Treasure Ministries an opportunity to support, encourage and build into the lives of others. I thank you for giving them clear insight for what you have called them to do. I thank you Lord that you have given them ears to hear what your Holy Spirit would speak to their heart concerning the gifts and call you have for them. Lord, I know you do not call us without equipping us with everything we need to get the job done. Thank you for your Holy Spirit of grace and power. Thank you Lord for your love working through our lives to touch those around us. Father we allow your Holy Spirit access to use our hearts and hands all for your glory. In the precious name of Jesus! Amen.

May the Lords grace and peace rest greatly upon your life and the lives of your loved ones!

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt. 4: What is in your hand

Greetings the Lords beloved!

Today I would like us to look at Exodus 4:2 The Lord asked Moses, "What is in your hand?" and Moses replied, "A rod." Now something interesting is that Moses was now a sheep herder. Once a prince of Egypt now a shepherd. Can I tell you that the Lord is not interested in your life status. He'll use a prince and he'll use a pauper. He looks for those whose hearts are humble and ready serve regardless of where they are on the ladder of life. He seeks willing vessels.

However, if status keeps you from the will and call of God on your life. You may be presented with another direction that is unexpected. Again, I am able to speak of this first hand. The Lord brought me out of the land to do a work in my heart, just to bring me back into the land he had called me out of to finish the work he had started. Know this, God is faithful to us and never looses sight of what he has ordained for us. Even if we allow life to distract us for a season. He is the Great Shepherd and will lead us back. Let's read Hosea 11:4 "I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a child to the cheek, and I bent down and fed them."

Get your note book ready.
  • The Lord will use our life experiences as well as talents we may have.
These particular gifts and talents have been given to us naturally. It is what the Lord blessed us with and how he wired us. Our interests, our education, experiences we've had, good or bad, that has made an impact or has influenced us in a certain way. Now mind you, the Lord will use experiences that may seem to be negative to us. Those same experiences will be a blessing and encouragement others to know that they are not alone. Let's read in Genesis 50:19-20 But Joseph said to them (his brothers) "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Be encouraged. Your past can no longer hurt you. In fact the Lord is going to use it to catapult you to a deeper place in him only to come out victorious and rescue many from the snares of the evil one in the mighty name of Jesus!

I would like to take a moment and allow you to add this to your inspiration board. It may not be easy. But even so, take courage. When you add it to your board, at that point it is not about you, but about others that may need healing or encouragement from such an experience or situation. This is where your ministry prayerfully begins. You can empathize with others because of your past experiences. If you have had a negative experience in your life that has seemly attempted to haunt you every now and then. Let's bring it before our Lord. Lay that thing, experience, sickness, or people involved before the Lord now. Let's pray.

Father God you see me and you see this experience and situation the enemy has tried to stifle me with for years. I give it to you now Father. I lay it and the people involved before you. I ask forgiveness not only for me but, for them as well. I desire to be loosed of this and free to serve you with out any hindrances. Use it for your glory Father. I thank you Lord for hearing my prayer and making me clean and pure in you. Refresh me Father by your Holy Spirit. Renew my vision in you. Fill me with your joy and life once again. I give my life to you. I love you Father and I thank you. In Jesus' name I pray amen.

In Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin that does so easily beset us, and let us run the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Examples of natural abilities that the Lord can use but not limited to these listed.

Administrative, stay at home Mom, soccer coach, sewing/crocheting, ballot dancer or instructor, baker, gardener, construction worker, animal enthusiast, tag sale entrepreneur, CEO, teacher, landscaper, arts and crafts, singer, computer wiz, machinist, painter, camp instructor, or even an ice cream truck driver.

These are just a few. The Lord is able to use what you are holding in your hand. You do not need to have a big ministry or be a great T.V. personality to do exploits for the Lord. Remember, he seeks a humble and contrite heart. Just be willing to serve. He will use what you give to him for his glory, and you will be truly blessed as well.

His grace and peace to you and yours.

YOUR HEAVENLY CALL pt. 2: Your gifts make a way for you

Blessings to you the Lord's Beloved!

We read in the book of Romans 11:29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. This means they will not be taken away. I am hearing a yes, but....  I understand completely. You know your weaknesses and mistakes, your faults and failures.  So does God, and yet He loves us unconditionally and has called us by name for a purpose.

We read in the Book of Numbers 23:19  "God is not man, that He should lie, or change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do?"  We trust God because we know He cannot lie. It is not in His nature. A matter of fact, it's nearly impossible for Him to lie. Because He is holy and there is no sin in Him. If sin were to be found in God, then we should not serve Him. He would be a liar and untrustworthy.

In the Book of Jeremiah 1:5 we find the Lord says "I knew you before you were in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." Before we were even in our mother's womb the Lord knew us. He knew our DNA, what our personality would be like, our weaknesses and strengths, our creative abilities, our intellectual structure, the potential of our characters, and our talents and gifts. The list goes on, but you get the idea.

Of course He knows, He is our creator. He created us on purpose for a purpose. This must lend some kind of comfort to you. We don't have to try so hard to determine what we want to be when we grow up. A little humor, our age has nothing to do with the call and gifting the Lord has granted to us! The fact is, it has in more ways than one already presented itself to the world around us. Our friends and families, our siblings and co-workers.

It is who we are in Christ and the things that come naturally to us. When we become one with Christ, He anoints and transforms our natural abilities into SUPER natural by His Holy Spirit operating and working in and through our lives, on behalf of Christ.

You may want to keep a note book handy and begin to write down things that you know about yourself. Your likes and dislikes. Your hobbies and pass time pleasures. What are things that may motivate you? Your passions, things you'd like to change if you could in yourself, and the world around you. What is it that burns in your heart. How do you feel when you see injustices being committed? What is it that brings you joy? Do you like to lead or follow? Do you like the lime-light or would you prefer to blend into the grey?

These are just a few examples of characteristics that may be helpful in zeroing in on your gifts and talents. This will be our inspiration board in order to better serve as a starting point for the direction you believe the Lord may be leading you in.

Leave a comment or email telling me what the Lord has put in heart and where you believe He's leading you. I'd love to hear from and encourage you anyway possible. Enjoy your journey in Him!

Many blessings to in Christ Jesus!

THE BRIDES HEAVENLY CALL

Blessings to you and yours my Brothers and Sisters in the Lord!

Time itself is accelerating. Biblical Prophesies are coming to pass. Our time is short. The Son of God, our Messiah, Jesus Christ of Nazareth will be returning soon. We, His Bride should make herself ready!

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready."  Revelation 19:7 (KJV)

We have been called with a heavenly purpose. The Lord has a plan and we fit into it. I realize that we can argue the point and say: "Not me. You do not know what I've done. He doesn't want to use someone like me."

Well let's put that to rest right now. When He sent His son to die on the cross you were on His mind. His love for you and hope for your future kept Jesus on the cross. He could've gotten down off that cross at any time. But He didn't. His love for us kept Him there. By His own choice and willingness. Because He loved you then and loves you now. Selah... (Ponder with intent and quietness of heart.)

"For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time--to show us His grace through Christ Jesus." II Timothy 1:9 (NKJ)

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJ)

So let's see what it is that He wants us to do for Him. Get excited and get ready!

As we begin to look into this subject we will look at scripture verses that will help us to identify gifts and talents that we may have. We may already know or have an idea of talents that have been useful in blessing others. What is it that seems to come naturally to you? Or maybe you're not sure. As we study I know the Lord will make it clear for you. So be encouraged and have hope.

The Lord by His Holy Spirit, has adorned us, His Bride with spiritual gifts that are not only to meant to build up the body of Christ. But, are to be used to show His power and grace to those who are lost, void of hope and walking in darkness. As much as we are to extend the love and grace of our Lord. We must also understand that these gifts are powerful and full of Gods power to save, heal and deliver. Miracles will take place. Signs and wonders will happen. The dead will be raised back to life. Blind eyes will be opened. The most cynical of sinners will be saved and transformed in  heart and begin to worship the Lord God Almighty! Hallelujah! I can't help myself our God is so good!

Our gifts are unique to us. We do not have the same gifts and talents. But they are all designed to work together in conjunction with one another. Our responsibility is to seek Him out and find what it is that He wants us to do and where He wants us to do it.

We have been given wonderful gifts and talents. We are here on earth for a particular time and season. God has a call or mandate upon our lives. We must begin to believe that we have a purpose and walk in it, to fulfill our divine destiny in Christ Jesus.

"Ask and it shall be given you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)

Let me ask you a question. Would you like to be a part of what the Lord is doing in the world today?  If your answer is yes, I'd like you to say to Him right now "Lord here am I, send me."  Our Brother Isaiah had the same opportunity. He overheard the Lord, saying, Whom shall we send? Who will go for us? Then Isaiah volunteered his services.

You can find this account in the Book of Isaiah chapter 6 verse 8.

The Lord richly bless you and make His face to shine upon you, in all that you may do and say to further His kingdom and bless His holy name!
